Heaven help us all.</subtitle><link rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#feed' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://blogsbykimber.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5458629132562749260/posts/default?max-results=100'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blogsbykimber.blogspot.com/'/><link rel='hub' href='http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/'/><author><name>KimberlyL</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/04845575152657029481</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><generator version='7.00' uri='http://www.blogger.com'>Blogger</generator><openSearch:totalResults>1</openSearch:totalResults><openSearch:startIndex>1</openSearch:startIndex><openSearch:itemsPerPage>100</openSearch:itemsPerPage><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5458629132562749260.post-2148883278433074066</id><published>2007-11-21T15:08:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-11-21T15:09:13.360-07:00</updated><title type='text'>Confession of An Overpacker</title><content type='html'>You know that person you see in airports, bus terminals and train stations trying to maneuver too many, too heavy bags?&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;That would be me.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;My almost pathological need to be prepared for EVERYTHING has time and time again trumped my desire to be able to move quickly and easily like a true travel pro.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I’ve dragged a half a dozen books and a pair of unworn wellies to &lt;st1:country-region st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Ireland&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:country-region&gt;.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I’ve carried multiple pair of shoes to &lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;London&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:City&gt;.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I actually packed an entire duffle bag full of shoes for a one week visit to &lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Chicago&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:City&gt;.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;It’s a sickness, really. And mind you this is all pre-travel packing.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;The return trip with my newly acquired gifts and souvenirs is just ugly.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I was seriously worried whether they were going to let me on the plane for my return trip from &lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;London&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:City&gt;.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;They are serious about that one carry on rule there.  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;I have tried purchasing packing “helpers”, reading articles on how to pack, what to pack, but I still find myself juggling overstuffed suitcases, totes and bags as I head out the door.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I suspect an intervention may be in order before my next planned trip. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;That trip is 3 week in &lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Europe&lt;/st1:place&gt; in October of 2008.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;2 weeks of train rides through (possibly) Eastern Europe, ending with a split week between &lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;London&lt;/st1:City&gt; and &lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Stratford&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:City&gt;.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;I’m already having nightmares of dragging bags through crowded trains, knocking my poor unsuspecting fellow travelers in the shins, head….oh the stares.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Am I beyond help? &lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5458629132562749260-2148883278433074066?l=blogsbykimber.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://blogsbykimber.blogspot.com/feeds/2148883278433074066/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=5458629132562749260&amp;postID=2148883278433074066' title='2 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5458629132562749260/posts/default/2148883278433074066'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5458629132562749260/posts/default/2148883278433074066'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blogsbykimber.blogspot.com/2007/11/confession-of-overpacker.html' title='Confession of An Overpacker'/><author><name>KimberlyL</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/04845575152657029481</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>2</thr:total></entry></feed>
